Episode
1: The Basics |
| |
| |
Facts:
1) |
The
first Plastic Hammer episode was
actually a remake of it's flash
predoccesor "The Art of Warhammer",
which was based on the Warhammer
40,000 miniature wargame, but
had to be removed due to legal
issues with Games Workshop. Art
of Warhammer was so popular that
A17 decided to change the name
and all the designs outside legal
copyright and put "Episode
1" under the title, as the
demand for a series based on it
was popular. We can't legally
put the original out on the web,
but those who have copies of it
regard it as a collector's item. |
2) |
Originally Orlando wasn't set
to appear in this episode, but
the scene with him in was thrown
in at the last second as a replacement
for the scene we originally had
from Art of Warhammer. |
3) |
Turbo Facehate was originally
going to do Luxor's voice for
this episode, but was replaced
when he couldn't use his mic. |
4) |
Orion, Orlando and Major were
all named after something (Major
being something big or important,
Orion was named after Orion's
belt and Orlando is a place in
Florida), however, did you know
that Luxor is a place in Egypt
and that we didn't realise this
until after we had named him? |

2: Sentries |
| |
| |
Facts:
1) |
It
was because of the appearance
Orlando made in this episode that
Terry, Sacha and A17 decided to
keep him on as a semi-major Plastic
Hammer character. During the early
concept scripts for this episode,
Orlando was planned to be a one
off joke about how people are
to lazy to paint miniatures. |
2) |
The "Buffalo wings"
song that Luxor sings before he
dies wasn't in the script at all.
The person playing his voice threw
it in as an extra soundbyte and
A17 ended up putting it into the
animation. |

During
one of the interscene animations,
one of the icons that pops up
is the head of Jasper from Paul
ter Voorde's Bored Kids...
click the head before it disappears
to see an idea for a flash animation
A17 and Paul were thinking of
doing. |
Facts:
1) |
Plastic
Hammer 3 was the first Plastic
Hammer episode to score above
3.80 when coming out of judgement
at Newgrounds.
It was then blammed down in score
afterwards. |
2) |
Whereas the script for the whole
episode was a joint effort between
A17, JT, Sacha and Terry, the
extra scene that you could view
after the credits have finished
was written purely by Terry himself. |

Easter
Eggs:
1) |
Plastic
Hammer 4 contains varying amount
of Easter Eggs depending on whether
you watch it here, at Newgrounds
or at TxMafia.
If you are watching it here or
at NG, you'll find the one Easter
Egg featuring a scene that was
originally going to be in the
cartoon, whereas if you watch
it on TxMafia, you'll find a second
scene with Jimmy the dancing monkey
in it. In either case, to get
to these secret scenes is the
same wherever you watch it. On
title screen, press "Select
scene", then, when the screen
finishes loading, type in "OMR"
(ignoring the quotation marks).
You will then be taken to a new
scene select screen with the secret
scenes on it. |
Facts:
1) |
Did
you know that VG Reality's very
own JTDemon was meant to do the
scenes Victor Orozco eventually
ended up doing? JT was replaced
due to the fact he was too "unmotivated"
to do the scenes. |
2) |
If you noticed, Terry and Sacha
had no part in the script writing
for Plastic Hammer 4. This was
because they were meant to be
writing the script for a Plastic
Hammer spin off called "Saving
Private Orion". |
3) |
Plastic Hammer 4 actually broke
the TxMafia
traffic record within a day of
it's release and also broke A17's
highest verdict count for any
of his movies at the time. |
4) |
In the early concepts of the
Plastic Hammer 4 script, Jonathan
Davis was set to appear as one
of the Barbarians. We eventually
scrapped the idea because he was
only really in it to unscrew Orlando's
head by hand whilst singing "Twist!"
and that would have been hard
to do, what with Orlando being
in Vegas and all... |
| |
| 5) |
The "you tell him girlfriend!"
line Barbarian number 1 says in
the Barbarian scene wasn't actually
in the Plastic Hammer 4 script,
but when the voice actor quoted
it to A17, he found it so funny
he added it to the episode. |
| |
| 6) |
Robert Greenwood (voice of Barbarian
number 2) was originally going
to write the script for this episode
along with JT and A17. He didn't
in the end because A17 found it
hard to get in touch with him
at the time the script was being
written. |
| |
| 7) |
Robert was also planned to voice
the Barbarian leader, who was
the embodiment of a chav with
a squeaky voice. We eventually
took it out though for two reasons,
firstly we thought it'd get a
bit off the point of melee and
secondly, we thought people might
feel insulted by the joke. |
